I feel overwhelmed today.
Just thinking of the things I need to do makes my heart beat hundred times faster. There are errands to do, deadlines to meet, commitments to attend to and a lot more on the list. How will I do everything? Is there any machine that will allow me to be in several places at one time?
Sometimes, it is during these “busy” moments that I tend to lose myself. Usually, my priority list includes home, work, friends, family etc., but not myself. I forget that I have needs too. I think it’s about time to make some changes. Today, I’m putting myself on top of the list. It will be difficult at first (because it sounds selfish), but it’s the only way I’ll be able to meet the needs of the people I love even more.
With a cup of my favorite tea, I’m making my schedule and to do list for the next 18 minutes. Making sure everything is covered, including my “me” time ( eating a slice of chocolate cake and reading a chapter of a book would be nice) during the hectic week.
When you feel good and happy, don’t you think it’s easier to take on the challenges of another day?
Tough times come once in a while. But if we learn how to take care of ourselves and make ourselves a priority (just like any other important priorities in our lives) then it will be easier for us to say – “I am ready. I am ready to fulfill my responsibilities with joy in my heart”.
